Executive Chef

Chef Michael “Mike” Stewart was born and raised in Beaufort, and his connection to the Lowcountry is deeply rooted in an appreciation for its diverse food culture. In the early years of his career, Mike honed his culinary skills under 3-Star Michelin Chef John B. Shields in St. Petersburg, Florida. Beaufort’s allure eventually drew him back home through a desire to grow and raise his family, and Mike now has three grown children that live locally. Mike has played pivotal roles as the Executive Chef and Assistant Food & Beverage Manager at Haig Point and served 15 years as the Executive Chef at Clarendon Farms. Now, he’s thrilled to contribute his culinary expertise and southern heritage to the dynamic team at Cuthbert House.
